Free Clinic, Work at Homeless Shelter Highlights Women's Soccer 7th Annual Day of Service

They had trained on their own on Monday night and then had a training session Tuesday morning with a KNVB Dutch coach the day of the game. After some sightseeing in Cologne the team headed to the home of the historic German professional Bundesliga Club Team, SC 07 Bad Neuenahr for its match.

The idea for the clinic, conceived by the two teams in order to benefit the victims of the January 12th Haiti Earthquake, was inspired in part by junior Philippe Celestin, a Swarthmore soccer player of Haitian descent. The clinic was a student-athlete-organized venture, with over 30 men’s and women’s players contributing to its organization and execution.
