BALTIMORE, Md.. - A first-half goal from Gettysburg's Molly Phillips off a corner kick proved to the be the difference as the Swarthmore College women's soccer team (12-6) was defeated by the Bullets 1-0 in the Centennial Conference semifinal on Saturday evening from Johns Hopkins.

Free Clinic, Work at Homeless Shelter Highlights Women's Soccer 7th Annual Day of Service
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - As part of the Swarthmore women’s soccer day of service, which included working in a homeless shelter, the team concluded the day by holding a free clinic at Clothier Field for girls ages 5 and up. About 170 young girls from Swarthmore and the surrounding communities came out to participate in the clinic where the received instruction and coaching from Swarthmore’s players.

Women's Soccer Team in Europe Game Recap - Swarthmore vs. SC 07 Bad Neuenahr
Swarthmore headed into its first international match on Tuesday having landed on the continent only three days earlier. They had trained on their own on Monday night and then had a training session Tuesday morning with a KNVB Dutch coach the day of the game. After some sightseeing in Cologne the team headed to the home of the historic German professional Bundesliga Club Team, SC 07 Bad Neuenahr for its match.

Lancaster, Pa. - Six Swarthmore student-athletes have been named to the 2010 Fall All-Centennial Sportsmanship Team, the Conference announced on Wednesday morning. The Centennial Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) established the All-Sportsmanship team in 2007. Each team elected a member from their squad who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season to be selected to the All-Centennial sportsmanship team.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Garnet fans have spoken: The third consecutive ECAC Championship for the women's soccer team has been voted the best Swarthmore Athletics moment of 2009-10. The event captured an impressive 39% of the vote in the final poll, besting the men's soccer team's run to the NCAA Sweet 16 (28%) and men's swimmer Travis Pollen's national championship (19%). Over the course of 30 days, Swarthmore fans cast nearly 2,000 votes in two seperate polls to determine a winner.

Garnet Soccer Teams Host Haiti Earthquake Relief Clinic
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men’s and women’s soccer programs collaborated to host the Haiti Earthquake Relief Clinic on Saturday, March 20th at the College’s Clothier Field Stadium. The idea for the clinic, conceived by the two teams in order to benefit the victims of the January 12th Haiti Earthquake, was inspired in part by junior Philippe Celestin, a Swarthmore soccer player of Haitian descent. The clinic was a student-athlete-organized venture, with over 30 men’s and women’s players contributing to its organization and execution.

Swarthmore Defeats Stevenson 1-0 to Move to ECAC Championship Game
ALTOONA, Pa. - The Garnet women continued their ECAC dominance on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Stevenson Mustangs 1-0 with a perfectly placed goal to the top left corner by senior Julia Luongo from 25 yards out. The win advances Swarthmore to the championship game where it will attempt to win its third straight ECAC Tournament title.

Six Garnet Women Named to All-Centennial Team
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore women's soccer team had six student-athletes named to the All-Centennial team, as announced Tuesday. Junior Megan Colombo and senior Julia Luongo were named to the first team, while junior Laura Bolger and freshman Alexa Ross were selected to the second team and senior Maggie DeLorme and sophomore Marie Mutryn were honorable mention.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's soccer team and volleyball team have been selected to participate in the 2009 ECAC Division III South Championships, the organization announced on Monday. The women's soccer team (13-4-1) - the two-time ECAC Champions - are the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 Centenary (N.J) on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. from Clothier Field Stadium, while the volleyball team (19-10) is a No. 6 seed and will play at No. 3 Widener on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

Garnet Lose in Heartbreaking Fashion, Fall to Dickinson on Penalty Kicks
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Centennial Conference playoff run for the Swarthmore College women's soccer team (13-4-1) ended in heartbreaking fashion as No. 5 seed Dickinson (14-3-1) advanced past the No. 4 seed Garnet 5-4 on penalty kicks Wednesday evening from Clothier Field Stadium. Tied 1-1 after 110 minutes, the Red Devils and Garnet saw the first nine shots of the penalty kick shootout find the back of the net until Swarthmore senior Julia Luongo's shot was stopped by a fantastic save from Dickinson goalkeeper Kailyn Hartmann on the 10th and final shot to end the game.

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford got two goals over a two-minute span in the second half to put away the No. 20 Swarthmore College women's soccer team 3-0 on Tuesday afternoon from a wet and muddy Walton Field at Haverford College.
